Town & Country Partners with the Homeless Pets Foundation

Homeless Pets VolunteersThe Homeless Pets Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 1998 by Dr. Michael Good, an Atlanta veterinarian who saw a need to create an organization that could assist animal shelters and pet owners in need. In the Atlanta area alone, there are more than 100,000 animals destroyed each year for lack of a home. The Foundation provides critical medical care, food, foster care and comfort to these homeless animals.

The Homeless Pets Foundation is currently split into three different entities. The first one, just known as the Homeless Pets Adoptions, concentrates on adopting animals through Town and Country Veterinary Clinic and managing the many dogs and cats in our program. The second part, Homeless Pet Clubs, partners with schools and workplaces and uses their social networking abilities to help adopt out animals. Finally, because shelter animals are higher in demand in the Northeast, Homeless Pets Transport, also known as the Underhound Railroad, helps move animals from the South to the North, ensuring the dogs or cats find a loving home.

Since its inception, we have placed over 10,000 animals in loving homes.

For information on adopting or fostering one of our Homeless Pets, please click here.

Please Note

The Homeless Pets Foundation is run by volunteers at all levels. Members of the Board to foster parents all volunteer their time, and in many cases, their own money in order to help homeless animals. Most volunteers have full-time jobs and donate their time in the evening after a full day of work and/or on weekends.

No one with Homeless Pets Foundation receives any monetary compensation for their work.

Each year, the Homeless Pets Foundation saves over a thousand animals, and we only expect to grow that number.

Please visit the website for more information on how you can volunteer for us or adopt a pet!
